A Heavenly Morning Delight: Crescent Roll Cinnamon Rolls

A Heavenly Morning Delight: Crescent Roll Cinnamon Rolls

There's nothing quite like starting your day with a warm, delicious breakfast. And when it comes to a quick and easy morning treat, cinnamon rolls made with crescent rolls are a game - changer. In this article, we'll guide you through the process of creating these mouth - watering cinnamon rolls and show you how to top them off with a delectable glaze.

First, let's gather the ingredients. For the cinnamon rolls themselves, you'll need a can of crescent rolls. These are readily available at most grocery stores and are a great time - saver. You'll also need butter, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. The combination of these simple ingredients will create a rich, sweet, and spicy filling that is simply irresistible.

To begin, preheat your oven to the temperature specified on the crescent roll package. Usually, it's around 375°F (190°C). While the oven is heating up, take a large piece of parchment paper and place it on a baking sheet. This will prevent the cinnamon rolls from sticking to the pan.

Next, take the crescent rolls out of the can and unroll them on a clean surface. You'll notice that they come in triangles. Use a rolling pin to slightly flatten each triangle, making them a bit larger and thinner. This will allow for more room to spread the filling.

Now, it's time to make the filling. In a small saucepan, melt about 1/4 cup of butter over medium - low heat. Once the butter is melted, add 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Stir the mixture constantly until the sugar has dissolved and the filling is smooth. Remove the saucepan from the heat.

Using a spoon, spread an even layer of the cinnamon - brown sugar filling over each flattened crescent roll triangle. Start from the wide end of the triangle and work your way towards the point. Make sure to leave a small border around the edges so that the filling doesn't spill out when you roll the dough.

Once the filling is spread, begin rolling the crescent rolls from the wide end towards the point. Roll them tightly, making sure to tuck in the edges as you go. Place the rolled cinnamon rolls, seam - side down, on the prepared baking sheet. Space them out evenly so that they have room to expand as they bake.

Put the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the cinnamon rolls for the time recommended on the crescent roll package, usually about 10 - 12 minutes. Keep an eye on them as they bake. They should turn golden brown on top and be cooked through in the center.

While the cinnamon rolls are baking, it's time to make the glaze. There are two options: a classic powdered sugar glaze and an orange - infused one. For the classic glaze, simply mix 1 cup of powdered sugar with 2 - 3 tablespoons of milk in a small bowl. Stir until the glaze is smooth and has a drizzling consistency. If it's too thick, add a little more milk; if it's too thin, add a bit more powdered sugar.

For the orange - infused glaze, follow the same steps as the classic glaze, but add the zest of one orange and 1 - 2 teaspoons of freshly squeezed orange juice. The orange adds a bright, citrusy flavor that pairs perfectly with the warm cinnamon and sweet brown sugar in the rolls.

Once the cinnamon rolls are done baking, take them out of the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. This will make them easier to handle and allow the glaze to set better. Then, using a spoon or a fork, drizzle the glaze over the warm cinnamon rolls. The glaze will melt slightly on the hot rolls, creating a beautiful, sticky topping.

These crescent roll cinnamon rolls are not only delicious but also incredibly versatile. You can serve them as a standalone breakfast item, pair them with a cup of coffee or tea, or even use them as a dessert. They're perfect for a lazy weekend morning, a family gathering, or a quick snack on the go.

So, the next time you're looking for a simple yet satisfying breakfast option, give these cinnamon rolls made with crescent rolls a try. With just a few ingredients and a little bit of time, you can enjoy a homemade breakfast treat that will make your mornings brighter and more delicious.
